The Nigeria government is considering the option of discharging COVID-19 patients earlier than their required treatment and isolation period, despite their positive status.   This was revealed by the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, at the daily Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 briefing on Thursday.   Mr Ihekweazu said new evidence shows that it is safe to discharge recovering COVID-19 patients even when the results are still positive.
