The Oba of Benin is the traditional ruler and the custodian of the culture of the Edo people and head of the historic Eweka dynasty of the Benin Empire.
The reigning Oba of Benin, Ewuare II was born October 20, 1953) while he was also crowned as the Oba of Benin on same day, 20 October in 2016.
Today, in his ancient palace in the Benin city, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Edo Uku Akpolokpolo celebrates 3rd year on the throne of his forefathers.
