PROF. JELEEL OJUADE, ASSOCIATION OF DANCE SCHOLARS AND PRACTITIONERS OF NIGERIA SAY NO TO COVID-19

At such a time, when an epidemic is ravaging the surface of the planet earth; making sick and taking lives, we must take a moment of grief and pause-dance in solidarity with mother earth to plead our cause with the supreme being, that God may heal our land” -TellAfrica.

In this spirit, Professor Jeleel Ojuade, The

The President of ADSPON in a press statement released on 29 March 2020 have this to say…….

Distinguished Gentlemen & Ladies (Adsponites),

Good day to you and your household.

It’s no longer a news that the global community is taken over by the dreaded corona virus (referred to as COVID 19)!

As human being that believed in planning ahead in whatever we do, there were series of plans, vis a viz research, personal, academic et al before the upsurge of the global pandemic through China (in Wuhan)!!!

Gradually, the spread like a mirage, arrived Africa and indeed Nigeria!

At this point, I’m appealing to everyone of us including our families (through you), relations, friends, neighbours et al to please heed the call and instructions of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the NCDC & others…that the immediate and best solution right now is to ‘stay at home’ while we follow the rules of curtailment of the dreaded disease.

The WHO provides basic protective measures against this new corona virus as follows:

* Wash your hands frequently & thoroughly with an alcohol based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.

* Maintain Social Distancing.

* Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.

* Practice respiratory hygiene.

* If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.

* Stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider (the National & Local authorities).
