UCH CMD tests negative for COVID-19
Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan has tested negative for COVID-19 after eight days of isolation and treatment.
This was disclosed by the Head of Public Relations Unit of the hospital, Mr Toye Akinrinlola, who confirmed that the recent test of his blood sample returned negative. This is an aftermath of the initial positive status 7 days ago.
Akinrinlola stated that, the test result arrived at about 3:45 pm and this serves as a relief for family, friends and staffs of the institution.
The Proffessor believed he may have contracted the virus during the Board meetings of the hospital held the previous week.
The week-long meetings was however suspended on Thursday after some members showed symptoms of COVID-19.
In like manner, the Provost of the College of Medicine and his deputy have also tested positive for the virus and have since been in self-isolation.
While Mr Akinrinlola’s test result came through as negative among the other contacts with the infection that was tested.
