President Buhari has approved the suspension of Acting chairman of EFFC Ibrahim Magu.
The Attroney – General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) said the President, Muhammad Buhari has approved the suspension of the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Ibrahami Magu
Malami said this in a statement by his Spokesmen, Umar Gwandu on Friday.
He had immediately appointed the EFCC head of Operations Mohammed Umar as the acting chairman.
The discussion was said to be that President Muhammad Buhari has approved the urgent suspension of Ibrahim Magu as the acting Chairman of EFCC so as to allow the unhindered inquiry by the Presidential Investigation Panel under the Tribunals of Inquiry Act and other relevant laws.
President Muhammad Buhari has also approved Mohammed Umar as the new Director of Operations, he shall henceforth take charge and oversee the activities of the Commission while the Investigation lapse and a further directives is issued.
