UNIBEN Mourn Rape & Murder Victim, Vera Omojuwa

The management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have publicly denounced the rape and murder of one of its female students.

Vera Omozuwa was a 100-level Microbiology student of UNIBEN before before the unfortunate incident.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIBEN, Lilian Salami, released a statement through the Public Relations Officer, Benedicta Ehanire, in response to the shocking news.

The statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Benin, where the VC condemned the actions and daid it should not be condoned by any society.

Salami stated that the current pandemic COVID-19 pandemic is hard enough; compounding it will inflict additional pain on any family, such as this wicked act.

The VC commiserate with the bereaved’s family on the loss of their daughter and prayed God to grant her soul peaceful rest.

The vice-chancellor urged students of the institution and all young people to be careful of the company they keep and the places they visited.

A delegation had also been sent by the university’s management to commiserate with the bereaved family.
