ECOWAS Court Held That The Nigerian Government Shall Pay 244 Dismissed Soldiers

The West African regional court, ECOWAS Court of Justice, held that the Nigerian Government shall pay the arrears of the salaries of 244 soldiers dismissed from service in 2016. A summary of the verdict released by the court’s information department on Friday stated that the judgment was delivered on Thursday. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday cautioned that the ambition for Eco regional currency could be in ‘serious jeopardy,’ unless member states complied with agreed processes of reaching the collective goal.
