COVID-19 Update: Ireland Records 29 Death And New Cases

The Department of Health have announced 29 more COVID-19 related death on Thursday and this brings the total number of deaths to 1,403.   The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said of those who had died, 69 occurred in an intensive care unit and 86.4% had an underlying medical condition.   A further 137 cases of the virus have also been diagnosed, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Ireland to 22,385.   Dr Tony Holohan said there are 76 patients presently with Covid-19 at intensive care unit.

Fifty-two new deaths related to Covid-19 was announced during the press briefing on Saturday 25, April 2020. This implies that a total number of deaths related to COVID-19 has risen to 1,063. The Department of Education in Ireland today 19th of March 2020 announced the cancellation of  oral and practical exams in the upcoming Junior & Leaving  Certificate Examination. The Department further stated that all students shall be awarded full Mark’s in the designated subjects. These exams scheduled between 23 March and 3 April, have been cancelled.
