Just In: Nigeria Receives Russia’s COVID-19 Vaccine

The Government of Nigeria on Friday has received samples of Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine. The Russia Ambassador to Nigeria, Alexey Shebarshin, delivered the samples to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire in Abuja. The minister said the vaccine would be referred to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control as well as the Nigeria Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, amongst other agencies, for review and possible validation. We’re learning more about the aftermath of the wide-reaching Russia investigation that concluded last spring. According to the Washington Post, Republican and Democratic leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee told the Justice Department last July they believed several people close to President Donald Trump, including his son Donald Trump Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner and former adviser Steve Bannon, may have misled them during testimony in the investigation.
