COVID-19: Oxford Trial Suspended

The COVID-19 vaccine developed by the University of Oxford has now been halted following discovery of side effects on test subjects. According to Bloomberg, the pause, first reported by Stat on Tuesday, occurred due to a suspected serious adverse reaction in a single person participating in the trial in the UK. The health problems experienced by the individual has not been disclosed, however, the situation will add steam to the concerns of health experts calling for caution in the race for a vaccine for the highly contagious COVID-19. Gov. Obiano Suspends 12 Monarchs For Visiting Buhari Without Permission

The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Willie Obiano has suspended 12 more traditional rulers for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari last week without permission from the State Government. Earlier, the Governor had suspended monarch of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, over alleged petitions from his community. He also withdrew the monarch’s certificate of recognition. EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu Suspended Until Further Notice

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has today been suspended by the Presidency. Magu who was arrested on Monday by a combined team of Department of State Services personnel and policemen at the Wuse II office of the EFCC to face an interagency committee investigating corruption allegations levelled against him.
