In an effort to curb the surge in cases of COVID-19, the Madagascar government has reimposed a lockdown in its central region, which includes its capital Antananarivo.
Schools and universities in the city have been closed while nonessential travel within the region is prohibited until July 20.
Churches will also be shut, and public gatherings of more than 50 people is now prohibited according to the government.
The government said troops have been deployed to affected districts to ensure residents comply with containment measures, including a curfew in the capital city, the government said.
Recall that Malagasy researchers invented the Covid Organic, an alleged anti-malaria substances which the government of Madagascar proffer as a cure for the novel Coronavirus.
