BAIL SET AT 90 MILLION NAIRA FOR SENATOR DINO MELAYE BY NIGERIAN COURT.

Officers of The Nigerian Police wheeled “singing senator” Dino Melaye into a magistrate court yesterday on a wheel chair after been hospitalised as a result of injuries sustained while he attempted to escape arrest by the police by allegedly jumping out of a moving police van, although his sympathisers have claimed that he was pushed, he has since then remained under police guard at the hospital.
Senator Dino Melaye was detained after allegations were levelled against him as regards the supply of illegal weapons to his political supporters, an allegation which he has since denied and says he is a victim of a conspiracy by his detractors to end his political career. Just last weekend, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dismissed a petition to recall him from his senatorial seat, an attempt which was only able to garner about 5% of the total votes required to force him to step down.
According to Sahara reporters, a magistrate has set bail for Senator Dino at a whooping sum of $250,000 which is equivalent to 90 million in Naira.
