The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria today 18th March 2020 bans 13 high risk Coronavirus afflicted countries from travelling to the country.
The named countries are:
China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, Norway, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Switzerland.
This is coming after the country had recorded 8 cases of Coronavirus incidents in recent time.
Measures are been taken by the 11 members Presidential Taskforce set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus in Nigeria. 
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha, who inaugurated the Task Force on Tuesday, 17th of March 2020 stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was necessitated to set up the taskforce so as to monitor developments around the world on the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus.
The Taskforce include members from the following sectors: Ministers’ of Health, Foreign Affair, Interior, Aviation, Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development, Education, Information, Environment and Minister of State for Health.
Others members included are; the DG DSS, DG National Centre for Disease Control and World Health Organization representative in Nigeria.
Mustapha also named Dr. Sani Aliyu as the National Coordinator for Covid-19 control and member of the Task Force.
The national coordinator shall be responsible for cohesion and efficiency in the roles by the different agencies, operating in treatment of the national response strategy.
Mustapha said given that the actions by different countries all over the world indicated that COVID – 19 is a threat to humanity. Hence, Nigeria must be firm, scientific and methodical in approach.
The time line for the Task Force is six months. Its term of reference include but not limited to; strengthening the national response strategy, particularly in the area of testing, containment and management of Coronavirus and building awareness among the populace.
