US Repatriated 376 American Citizens From Nigeria

Amid the pandemic COVID-19 situation in the world, people away from home are stranded and left with little or no hope of return due to travel restrictions in place to curb spread of the Coronavirus.

The U.S will not take the citizens for granted as they came just in time to rescue Americans citizens who wish to return home.

From Lagos, Nigeria on Monday 6 April 2020, 376 American citizens were flown to Washington.

This was made know by the USA Consulate in Nigeria via a post on their social media handle which reads as follows;

“A U.S. repatriation flight departed Lagos yesterday with 376 American citizens aboard. The Washington Dulles International Airport bound flight was one of a series of repatriation flights for American citizens in Nigeria. U.S. Consul General Claire Pierangelo noted that β€œthe first priority of the Department of State is the safety of American citizens overseas. For that reason, throughout the world, we are working to ensure that Americans who want to return home are able to get home.” As of April 6, the Department of State has repatriated, or helped to repatriate, over 44,000 American citizens from 78 countries.”

We wish them journey mercy back home and hopefully some may return at the end of this episode.
