Following the 10 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria today, the Federal Government have decided to lockdown the international airports to further combat the fight against the pandemic.
The airport in question are: Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos; and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja. This is effective from Monday, 23rd March 2020 to Thursday 23rd April 2020.
This statement was signed by the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Musa Nuhu.
The lockdown also complement those of 3 other international airports in Kano, Enugu and Port Harcourt that were already shut down for flight operations from Saturday.
This implies that, no International flight shall be allowed in Nigeria during this period except for emergency or essential purposes.
Note however, that domestic flights remain operational during the international lockdown period.
