The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that international flights will resume on August 29. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made this announcement for resumption of flights at the bi-weekly Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing on Monday. He said the airports will open in batches beginning with Lagos and Abuja. The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Willie Obiano has suspended 12 more traditional rulers for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari last week without permission from the State Government. Earlier, the Governor had suspended monarch of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa, over alleged petitions from his community. He also withdrew the monarch’s certificate of recognition. COVID-19: Nigeria Records Another Low With 290 Cases & 5 Fatalities

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Monday, Nigeria reported another low incidence of the novel coronavirus; as 290 new infections was recorded, being the second lowest daily figure since June 8. The federal government of Nigeria is investigating some drug stores in the country over outrageous hiking of prices of hydroxychloroquine, a controversial anti-malaria drug used for COVID-19 treatment. A drug store in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Ebus Pharmacy Limited, was selling hydroxychloroquine at an exorbitant price of N50,000.
