Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won as he defeated, the All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate, Pastor Osegie Ize-Iyamu, in the State governorship, held on Saturday 20 September 2020 in Edo State. The results as announced by INEC, saw Obaseki winning in in all the LGAs, with 307,857 votes, while his closest contender, Ize-Iyamu got 223,622 votes.
