Examination Malpractices: Imo State Public Schools Charge N2k Per Subject/ Student

Allegations have been made that some public secondary schools in Imo State are charging students N2,000 per subject to provide them with answers to questions in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination. The school owners met with students before the commencement of the examination where they informed them that they would provide the answers if each student paid N2,000 per subject. SSCE: Nigeria Government Slates Date To Start WAEC

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has now been slated for August 17, 2020, by the federal government. The government also stated that, exit classes in secondary schools will resume August 4. The spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Gooong, said this in a press statement made available on Monday. According to Mr Gooong, SS3 students will have two weeks within which to prepare for the West African Examinations (WAEC) examination. The Nigerian government had reversed its earlier decision with respect to the resumption of schools.…
