Majek Fashek as fondly called by fans all over the globe.
Named Majekodunmi Fasheke and birthed in Nigeria. The reggae music icon has kicked the bucket.
This was revealed on Tuesday, by the deceased’s manager, Omenka Uzoma, via Instagram which reads;
“It is true that the African number one legendary icon has gone to be with his maker.
“Let’s celebrate him, his achievement and his family, whatever decision made by his immediate family will be notified.”
Majek Fashek until his demise was a Nigerian singer, songwriter and guitarist best known for the 1988 album ‘Prisoner of Conscience’ which included the multiple award-winning single “Send Down the Rain.”
Also fondly called ‘The Rainmaker’ and while he has lived has worked with various artists of International repute which includes: Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé.
Few years before his death, he needed rehabilitation and support as his health was deteriorating. Nigerians across board including the notable philanthropist Billionaire, Femi Otedola who picked up his hospital Bill’s in a London hospital while he recuperate and got a new lease for life afterwards.
He however took became sick shortly before his final call to glory.
