Murdered OAU Professor Laid To Rest In His Hometown Amidst Tears, Wailing (Pictures)

It was a gloomy-day today Friday December 27, 2019, in Okeigbo the hometown of the murdered Obafemi Awolowo University Professor, Late Elusiyan, as his remains was buried amidst tears and wailing.

His wife, 3 children and aged parents could not hold back their tears as the late professor who was killed in the line of duty while returning from a clinical examination of the undergraduate medical students of the Ambrose Ali University in Edo State of Nigeria on December 13, 2019 was committed to mother earth.

At the lying-in-state service at both OAU and Okeigbo, thousands of sympathizers thronged the venue to catch the last glimpse of the lovable professor who many described as a philanthropist.

Until his death, professor Elusiyan was a consultant paediatric Endicrinologist and Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of the teaching hospital of OAU.

An erudite scholar, a patriotic Nigerian, a reputable professor of paediatrics and the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, who is being routed to be the next Chief Medical Director of OUA Teaching Hospital; the middle aged professor was killed in a gruesome manner while traveling with his driver.

Meanwhile, in his honor, the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife, has renamed the Paediatric Ward 11 as Prof. Jerome Elusiyan Ward to immortalise the late chairman of the institution’s Medical Advisory Committee.
