Prof. Godswill Obioma Becomes New NECO Boss

Prof. Godswill Obioma has been appointed as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council (NECO).

This announcement comes barely 48 hours after Prof Charles Uwakwe, the former Registrar and CEO of NECO and four others were sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari over allegations of financial misappropriation.

This was revealed in a statement released by NECO on Friday stating that Godswill Obioma officially took over from the former Acting Registrar, Abubakar Gana, on May 22 at the Council’s headquarters in Minna.

Before his appointment, Obioma was the Ebonyi State Resident Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
