Farmers Reveals that COVID-19 Deprives 700,000 Italian Kids Enough Food.

 

The coronavirus hardship in Italy is depriving around 700,000 children of adequate food.

 

This was revealed by the countryโ€™s main farmersโ€™ organization on Sunday the 10th of May, 2020.

 

The Economic hardship due to the health disaster had been made hard by the shut down of schools connoting that children from poor families no longer had access to canteen lunches.

 

According to a statement;

โ€œThe number of children under 15 that need assistance to get milk or food is now 700,000.โ€

 

People being plummeted into poverty by the disaster included subordinates of seasonal and interim workers, small business owners and tradesmen.

 

Undocumented employees are also greatly affected as they have no savings and are not qualified for state help.

 

However, hundreds of charitable institutes across Italy are trying to help the poor.

Coldiretti said 39 percent of Italians researched reflected they were ready to assist their efforts with payments of money or food.
