The United States of America has imposed visa restrictions on some Nigerians who are believed to have undermined electoral processes in the run up to the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states. The move also target individuals accused of to have undermined the November 2019 governorship polls in Kogi and Bayelsa. A court in the United States has dismissed the case against Olalekan Ponle, a Nigerian accused of multi-million dollar wire fraud. Mr Ponle, popularly known as Woodberry, was arrested, alongside Ramon Abbas (Hushpuppi) in the United Arab Emirate on June 10 for multiple fraud charges after a raid by operatives of the Dubai crime unit.
